Expo 2020 Dubai has become a “glimmer of hope” as more than 2,500 online travel agents, tour engineers, hotel groups and airlines have signed on as Authorised Ticket Resellers (ATRs), which was announced by organizers at Arabian Travel Market 2021 (ATM).

UNDERSTANDING EXPO 2020 DUBAI:

Expo2020 Dubai is all about marking and honouring the brilliancy of humans and their accomplishments. Expo 2020 is programmed to be a World Expo which is a mega international event in terms of size, scale, period and the number of visitors to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Expo 2020 Dubai is the first-ever World Exposition to be held in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region. Originally it was scheduled for 20 October 2020 – 10 April 2021. However, due to the Novel Corona Virus pandemic, it has been rescheduled with effect from 1 October 2021-31 March 2020. Organizers are planning not to change the name Expo 2020 for branding and marketing purposes. First time in history the World Exposition has been rescheduled. Expo 2020 Dubai also coincides with the UAE’s 50th anniversary in 2021 thus marking an important milestone for the UAE.

THE AIMS &OBJECTIVES OF EXPO 2020 DUBAI:

With the Expo 2020 Dubai, Dubai is likely to step forward in motivating the upcoming generation to flare innovations that will highlight the next 50 years of human development. Expo 2020 Dubai will be a festivity of the UAE Vision 2021 by endorsing the growth of tourism, revitalizing the development of innovative businesses in the UAE, and enhancing the country’s international notability as a site to do business. The focal point is on the power of youth as they possess a great amount of potential and capability to contribute to the enhancement of the nation and become one of the worlds youngest and fastest-growing populations.

THEMES OF THE EXPO 2020 DUBAI:

The Expo 2020 Dubai will be based on a theme called “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. The Expo 2020 will also be having three subthemes under it namely opportunity, mobility and sustainability, each with its pavilion. The Opportunity Pavilion is designed by Agi Architects, Mobility by Foster and Partners, and Sustainability by Grimshaw Architects. In 2021 it was declared that the three theme-based pavilions would open for a bounded period before the full opening of the expo.

SUSTAINABILITY: In the sustainability pavilion, there will be a HammourHouse which explores coral reef; a district stage which seats300 and Walkthrough a waterfall Brazil’s national pavilion, water the desert Czech Republic’s, enter a rainforest Singapore’s, wear cutting-edge devices Germany’s and enter a miniature world Netherlands’s pavilion. The Sustainability Pavilion Terra opened on 22 January 2021 and will stay open until 10 April 2021.

MOBILITY: This will include the world’s largest passenger lift (capable of transporting more than 160 people).

OPPORTUNITY: The Opportunity pavilion is designed by AGi Architects.

THE CORNERSTONE OF THE ARTICLE:

The declaration was made on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market 2021 (ATM) in Dubai. “We are delighted to have significantly grown the number of ATRs signed with Expo, more than doubling the figure since before the onset of the pandemic. Expo 2020 is ready to welcome the world, and thanks to the support of our tourism, hospitality, and travel industry partners, international visitors will be fully supported to join us and be part of the most diverse World Expo in history, as we build a better future for all.” She concluded.
