Flight ban leaves frontline workers stranded, urge for entry into UAE for vaccinated ones

UAE’s frontline workers, exemplary battled the COVID-19 pandemic, citizens trapped outside the country due to a flight ban, have nudged the authorities to entitle them to return to the Arabian Gulf Nation. They pleaded with UAE officials to permit those who have received a shot of COVID-19 Vaccine. They even asked for quarantine after the advent in the country. Currently, a good deal of UAE citizens who came from the Indian subcontinent is trapped in their home countries due to a flight ban.

There were residents like Health workers from UAE & they were on a vacation to their native land & UAE declared a travel ban on travelers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Nepal. Some of the deserted frontline workers have sent emails to Khaleej Times, questioning about the restarting of flights & demanding the officials to concede permission to return to UAE & begin with their occupations. A registered nurse, Sandhya, in an email to Khaleej Times wrote I am an employee, a vanguard nurse in Dubai, working in a reputed hospital, went to India on a vacation on 1st of April 2021, during

the second-wave of COVID-19 in Dubai. She also stated that she might lose track of her job if she doesn’t return to UAE. She further stated that healthcare workers are in high demand, during COVID-19 rampant last year, she continued saying that she is proud to be a frontline worker in Dubai, but she wants some leniency towards the frontline workers to get the special rule to permit the frontline workers to return to their respective places.

Another UAE, citizen Sanjeev Kumar, who work for a medical centre, is also stuck in India due flight ban, he also stated that he had already received the COVID-19 vaccine back in Dubai & thus he requested the UAE officials to permit those citizens who have already received the vaccination. He further showed concern for his family, as he is a monthly pay man, how will his family survive, if he will not come back to Dubai, to earn.
