Dubai: One of the world’s top ten fastest-growing remote work hubs in 2021

Dubai has it all. From attractive tourist places to a growing economy, Dubai is all set to make up its mark on the top. Dubai recently was ranked among the world’s top ten fastest-growing remote work hubs in 2021, along with American cities such as Miami and Denver.

According to an analysis by Nomad List, Dubai is the sixth fastest-growing remote working hub after three Mexican cities of Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum; Spanish city of Tenerife in the Canary Islands and Miami in the US.

Nomad List provides services for remote workers, digital nomads, and travelers to solve challenges like finding destinations to go, places to work, neighborhoods to stay, and making friends in a new place.

In March 2021, the UAE announced visas for overseas remote working professionals who can reside in the UAE.

The one-year visa enables professionals from all over the world to live and work remotely from the UAE even if their companies are based in another country. They can stay in the UAE under their own sponsorship. They can work in line with the “terms and conditions issued with the visa”.

“Do you want to access talent everywhere, or just in specific markets? If the answer is everywhere, you need to be at least open to the possibility of remote work.” Katie Burke quotes.

The covid-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic increase in the remote working hubs. Despite the pandemic, staying connected while everyone was apart didn’t seem like a tough job. Research has proved that working from home was quite effective for most people. People are more comfortable in choosing the flexibility of working from home.

WHY REMOTE WORKING IS ACTUALLY WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE?

According to the survey, 65% of the employees think that they would be more productive working from home than in a traditional office environment. Remote work comes with its own perks such as cost savings, defined focus, better work, and life balance, and most important workplace flexibility. Who wouldn’t love working from home?

CAN REMOTE WORKING TURN OUT TO BE A BURDEN?

Depending upon the person, remote working can either be a blessing or a burden. Things always look good from the outside. Remote work hubs come with a small package of pros as well as cons. Communication gaps, lack of social interaction, difficulty in staying motivated, isolation, and poor relation between co-workers are pretty much the cons of remote work hubs.

HERE’S A SMALL GUIDE TO HELP YOU GET OUT OF YOUR BED WHILE YOU’RE WORKING FROM HOME:

  • Always take a shower before work to feel fresh.
  • Schedule and journalize your day.
  • Stay connected with co-workers.
  • Make communication your best skill.
  • Make a vision board for yourself.
  • Do things that make you happy.

Byron Pulsifer quoted: “To be able to work at home successfully takes all of the following: motivation, perseverance, work, good habits, no excuses, balance, accountability, and action.”

Learn something new, do what makes your heart happy, communicate better and take things slow.
